Sunlight in the forest

Luce del sole nella foresta

Sunlight in the forest

I live near a forest and there is a pond.  I remember the sunlight sparkling through the trees and on the pond.  In my studio, I painted quickly using acylics with a knife and scratching with my finger nail.  Sometimes I used sall of my fingers.  Once, the painting is finished, it has a life of it's own.  So I can only hope that viewers may see their own memories in the painting.

SHORT BIOGRAPHY OF THE ARTIST

Growing up in the Canadian countryside and surrounded by a large family and supportive country community, I was encouraged to draw at the age of three. For two years I studied with the Master, Robert E. Wood and he taught me the foundation of oil painting and composition. I have been influenced by the Fauve, Kandinsky, O'Keefe and more! Later, I attended Emily Carr College of Art and Design and graduated after four years full time with an Interdisciplinary Major in 1988. I was very fortunate to have had 93 solo and over 130 group exhibitions. My works are held in the Museums, the Paul Getty III Foundation and private collections around the world.
