SHORT BIOGRAPHY OF THE ARTIST
Kathleen Allen is an artist mostly recognized for her black & white photography developed onto antique Irish roof slates using original 19th century methods. Kathleen's photographs on slate can have an almost painterly quality. She attempts to capture the essence and spirituality of a subject. Her work has been commissioned for presentation to Irish President, Mary McAleese; Canadian Ambassador, Mr. Loyola Hearne; and former American Ambassador, Jean Kennedy Smith. Kathleen has also painted Murals for Chernobyl Aid Ireland to be installed in a Chernobyl orphanage. Kathleen resides on 'The Wild Atlantic Way' coast of County Donegal, Ireland.
