SHORT BIOGRAPHY OF THE ARTIST
The luminous paintings of Chinese artist Chijia hark back to a more simple time when the boundaries between man and landscape were blurred. His composition is lyrical in nature, blending color, texture and form to create an inexplicably real harmony. He works by the influence of the French Miller, Monet and the American painter Andrew Wyeth, but his “oh so fresh” technique lifts the mastery of light to new heights. Chijia grew up near the Peal River, the biggest in Southern China. This formed his artistic inspiration because he loved his watery home region so deeply. He paints as if he truly is hearing the sound of violins, dancing across the river surface as the south wind pushes the summer heat away. He loves color, atmosphere and simple compositions that grow from deep within the earth. Indeed, Chijia art celebrates what beauty nature still has to offer.
