SHORT BIOGRAPHY OF THE ARTIST

Aleksandra Kosoń (b. 1992) is a polish artist based in Wroclaw, Poland. She works in the media of drawing, printmaking, painting and photography. Aleksandra is a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow, Poland -BA in graphic art & design, and recently she received her MA degree in Fine Art at Central Saint Martins in London, UK. Her current research interest are in the areas of place, memory and nostalgia. Landscape is the main inspiration for her work as she states that she perceives it as an imitation of art. She is interested in recording places around her by taking photographs and exploring the potential of images by transforming them using different techniques. She considers drawing as the most important part of her practice as she treats is as a primal way of expression. She is now working on big scale drawings to challenge herself in expressing her experiences of the landscape metaphorically
